Thailand Personal Data Protection Act

Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) is a national law concerning personal-data processing in Thailand. Its application and interpretation depend on the current legal framework and the circumstances of the organization and activity being assessed.

Also known as Thailand PDPA.

Why it matters in practice

Because several jurisdictions use the abbreviation PDPA, naming the country is important when discussing obligations or controls. Organizations should consult authoritative Thai legal materials and qualified advice for current requirements. This glossary entry identifies the law generally and does not state deadlines, exceptions, or a coverage conclusion.

Example

A privacy lead labels a regional data-flow record “Thailand PDPA” so it is not confused with another country’s similarly abbreviated law.

Educational note

This definition is general information, not legal advice. It may omit facts that matter to a specific situation and does not establish or guarantee compliance.
