Indonesia Personal Data Protection Law

Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law is the country’s national legal framework for personal-data processing. Its interpretation and application are shaped by the law and related legal materials, together with the organization, people, and processing activity being assessed.

Also known as Indonesia PDP Law, PDP Law.

Why it matters in practice

Organizations use the law as a reference when reviewing data practices connected with Indonesia. A careful analysis should rely on current authoritative materials rather than assuming that requirements match those in another country. This general glossary entry does not enumerate rights, deadlines, or exceptions.

Example

A team documents which personal information a regional service handles and asks its legal reviewer to assess the relevant Indonesian framework.
