Proxy & networking

Dedicated proxy

A dedicated proxy is an endpoint and its supporting resources allocated for a particular customer, workload, or purpose rather than shared among a broader set of unrelated users. The isolation boundary depends on the deployment and does not by itself guarantee a static IP or a specific security property.

Also known as single-tenant proxy.

Why it matters in practice

Dedicated capacity can make resource ownership and network policy easier to reason about, but operations still depend on patching, access controls, and infrastructure design. “Dedicated” should be defined precisely: it may refer to a process, virtual machine, address, or service allocation, which are not interchangeable.

Example

A team assigns one Hyperproxy to a sensitive test workflow and documents whether the address and supporting infrastructure are also exclusive.
