Chile's Data Protection Law

Chile's data protection law is the national legal framework that governs the processing of personal data in Chile. Its requirements, interpretation, and applicability depend on the applicable provisions and the circumstances of the organization and processing activity.

Also known as Chilean data protection law.

Why it matters in practice

Organizations use local privacy analysis to understand how information about people is collected, used, shared, and protected in relevant operations. A title alone does not establish which version or provision applies, so implementation questions should be checked against authoritative legal materials. This entry avoids giving a jurisdiction-specific compliance conclusion.

Example

A company maps a service’s personal-data flows connected with Chile and asks a qualified reviewer to identify which provisions need closer analysis.

Educational note

This definition is general information, not legal advice. It may omit facts that matter to a specific situation and does not establish or guarantee compliance.
