Why it matters in practice
Auto-Auth uses placeholders and service bindings to choose which secret is inserted and where. For inspected HTTPS, configure the client to trust the proxy's public CA certificate in the intended application or container. This trust is distinct from presenting a client certificate for mutual TLS.
Example
A worker trusts the configured proxy CA, connects through Auto-Auth, and sends a placeholder that is replaced for api.example.com.
